Ryan Hofer Records Hat Trick, Four Goals In Last Two Games

After posting two two-goal games at the end of October, Washington Capitals forward prospect Ryan Hofer is continuing his hot streak to start the month of November. Hofer has recorded four goals in the first two games of the month, including a hat trick against the Branden Wheat Kings on Wednesday night.

Hofer’s first tally Wednesday night came midway through the first period. He would take a puck up the right side of the ice, past a Wheat Kings’ defenseman and beat the Wheat Kings netminder at the left-side post.

Hofer notched his second goal of the game in the second period. It was his third goal in the last five periods of play.

Hofer completed the hat trick on a power play early in the final frame, deflecting a shot from the left point.

Hofer got off to a good start in November, potting his first goal of the month Tuesday night  against the Winnipeg Ice. It was a beautiful forehand-backhand shot to the far-side post. It was also the WHL’s Goal Of The Night.

Hofer, 20, now has 10 goals and five assists in 13 games played. He’s shot the puck 49 times for a 20.4% shooting percentage so far this season.

Hofer was selected by the Capitals with the 181st overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He is playing in his third season in the WHL as an “overager” for the Everett Silvertips, and will be looking to make the jump to Hershey next fall.
