Top best answers to the question «How long do you skateboard a day reddit»

I try to skate for at least 20 mins every day after work. On the weekends or if I have a day off i'll try to get to a park for 2-3 hours. I go for a half hour to 45 minutes usually. But, I usually just skate flat and that wears me out a lot quicker than cruising around or going to the park.

And yes Skaters use decks wider than their trucks all the time most actually , a little bit more deck than truck is great for carving and avoiding wheelbite I actually go atleast 1/8th an inch over so like 8.0 trucks =8.125 deck. bigger does not really matter, you don't want smaller. You'll barley notice.

Besides length and type (Phillips or hex, personal preference), no, there's no crucial differences in hardware.

Skate with confidence and awareness. If you're in a bike lane, check behind you to see if there's a cyclist coming up on you, but remember you've got a right to be there. If you're skitching on a car/truck, always hold onto the side, never the back hahaha. If the drivers slows or stops suddenly, you won't end up under the thing.

Skateboarders like to help others out in general (as long as you act nice) and can give you pointers on how to improve. Don’t be shy to ask for advice and I also recommend following skateboard etiquette when you visit a skate park for the first time. 1 x 4. and also, longboard. 2X4's are too commonplace for the modern hipster. They use only the most ragged, worn and terrifically poorly stained/painted woods. That's an insanely strong 1x4. 1x6 would be easier to actually ride. But being an idiot is kinda the point to this guy's setup.

If the board you bought strictly requires you to pick it up using your hands when confronted with any obstacle, throw it in the river and buy a new one, or just let us kick it into on-coming traffic for you. Never do you ever do this. Skateboarding’s all about flow and grace – like I’ve pounded in – so it’s such an offense against the essence of skateboarding to have to dead stop to pick up your flat lying board.
