 The Philippine Women’s National Team battled Chile to a 1-1 draw in their friendly match at the Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar, Chile.Playing against the 38th ranked side, it was La Roja who started the game strong with chances early on.However the Filipinas drew first blood when Sara Eggesvik delivered an inviting free kick to skipper Hali Long, who nodded it past Christiane Endler in the 26th minute.“We showed a good performance and we had a momentum coming out of Costa Rica,” said Long. “The big challenge we had out here against Chile the environment was great the team was physical, great possession on the ball but we really put a good put forward coming out of the gate and really proud of the efforts we had here tonight.”Long’s goal proved to be a spark for the Philippines as they grew into the match, trying to double their advantage.Quinley Quezada Katrina Guillou almost made it 2-0 for the Philippines midway in the second half but Endler’s heroics preserved the scoreline.Late into the match, Chile found the equalizer.
